I grew up in Gering, Nebraska, an area not well known for its theatre.  For me, good theatre was the reward for the long drive into downtown Denver, where I couldn’t get enough of it.  I, like many in this industry, can trace my experiences back to that one show that changed my life forever: Phantom of the Opera.  Yep, don’t laugh.

Although I’m no longer rehearsing “Music of the Night” in the shower at the top of my lungs with the hopes of playing Phantom on Broadway, I still spend much of my time in and around the theatre.  I moved to New York after receiving my Masters in lighting and scenery design and have designed my fair share of off-off Broadway and regional shows all over the country.  I have assisted the likes of James F. Ingalls, Jesse Poleshuck, and James Youmans.  As my designs improved, so did my ability to photograph them.  I have always had the same passion for photography as I did for theatre, and so, a few years ago, I invested in the professional equipment needed to make that move from hobbyist to professional.

My theatrical photography work has been seen in a number of publications including “Lighting and Sound America” and the 2010 Rose Brand Catalog.  For me, photography and theatre have always gone hand and hand, and I’ll continue improving my craft in both.
