When Ivonne contacted me about setting up a time for her engagement session, she asked how early in the morning do I usually shoot. I said, I can shoot whenever works for you. After all, I will be on the other side of the camera so there won’t be a record of how sleepy I might look. In my mind I was thinking 10 am or maybe 11. She said, what about 7:30? In the morning? On a Saturday? Let’s do it! I can’t think of a better reason to get up on a weekend than to have the opportunity to work with such a great couple like Ivonne and Johnny. And actually Central Park is really wonderful at that time of the morning. The city isn’t quite up yet so the park is quiet and empty. It feels like it’s just you and the ducks taking it all in.
Unfortunately for our shoot, time of day had nothing to do with temperature. It was still hot. But Ivonne and Johnny took it in stride and we had a great time melting on the pavement together! And what I find amazing is that you would never know it by looking at them in the pictures. They look great!
You’ll be seeing more of Ivonne and Johnny as I’m also shooting their wedding in December. From one temperature extreme to another, but they survived a New York heatwave, everything else is no problem.
Looking forward to your wedding Ivonne and Johnny! Congratulations again!
